About the Series
Meet Jacob and Sophie, the DiploBrats. They are the (fictional!) Donovan children, the teenage son and daughter of a CIA father and a State Department mother.
DiploBrats is a forthcoming family spy thriller series that takes on the world’s most hotly contested issues—such as human migration (the first book) to disinformation and free speech to global inequality—to bring the modern-day topics of global civics to America’s conversations. We live in an age where believing whatever it is we want to believe and shouting down those who suggest otherwise threatens to degrade our institutions to mere shadows of what our Founders built. DiploBrats presents some of our thorniest policy questions in all of their complexity to invite critical thinking and the exchange of new ideas from the generation who will have the mission of forging our nation’s way forward.
The United States and the democratic world order are at a crossroads. DiploBrats seeks to inspire and arm those who will make the choice of what path we follow. Will we decide to do the hard work to build each other up and protect the most vulnerable among us as an example for the world? Can we find it in ourselves to go the extra mile to make a kinder, more just planet?
